This 45 minute presentation will highlight GSFIC’s policies and expectations regarding
- The Design Professional is the Building Official on State projects
- Geo-technical/CMT/SI procurement and responsibility
- Geo-technical investigations: getting enough information and coordinating with the team.
- Interdisciplinary coordination
- Delegated design
A question and answer period will follow.
Speakers
John Jefferson
John Jefferson, RA, PMP, LEED AP BD+C, currently the Director of Design Review Services, has been empl
oyed by GSFIC since 2008 and has served previously as a Project Executive (2009 – 2018) and as Senior Architect in the Design Review Group (2008 – 2009). Prior private experience includes Design & Construction Director for XC PROPERTIES, LLC, running his own firm, JOHN N. EFFERSON ARCHITECT, INC., and working as a Project Architect for CHAPMAN COYLE CHAPMAN & ASSOCIATES ARCHITECTS AIA, INC. John is a Georgia State Fire Inspector and Level 1B Certified Inspector with the Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission. He has served as Assistant Scoutmaster for Troop 111 Etowah District, Boy Scouts of America (2001 – 2013).
Ken Nuttall
Kenneth Nuttall, PE, has been a Senior Structural Engineer with GSFIC since 2014. He has an additional 12 years of plan review experience with the City of Sandy Springs and Fulton County and over 20 years of design experience. Ken is currently vice president of SEAOG and a past president of ASCE Georgia Section. He has served on the 2006, 2012, and 2019 Special Inspections Guidelines committees.
