Program
Georgia will be adopting the 2018 IBC code in January 2020. In preparation for the transition this seminar will discuss the major new features of the 2018 IBC structural provisions. Subjects covered include substantive revisions to structural-related Chapters 16-23. There are significant changes in design provisions for the major structural loads including seismic and wind. Many of these changes result from a change in the referenced standard for design loads from ASCE 7-10 in the 2012 IBC to ASCE 7-16 in the 2018 IBC. The changes in other structural chapters result largely from changes in the referenced material standards such as ACI 318, AISC 360, and AISC 341. There will be opportunities for participants to ask questions. This seminar is designed to provide a great introduction to the 2018 IBC and assist the code user in making a transition from the 2012 IBC to this new edition.
