Speakers

 

John Lawrence
John is a senior geotechnical engineer for Terracon's Atlanta office. He is a graduate of the University of Florida where he earned both his Masters and Bachelor degrees in Civil Engineering (specialty in geotechnical engineering). John has accumulated over 37 of engineering experience in the fields of construction materials testing/IBC special inspections, geotechnical engineering design, and environmental-related consulting. He specializes in deep foundation design and construction, and in-situ testing.

John has played a leadership role within the local engineering community over many years, having served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Section of ASCE (Vice President, Treasurer, Technical Director), served as Chairman of the Geotechnical Committee for ASCE, and was a member of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs' Task Force to review and amend the 2012 International Building Code for use in Georgia. In 2004, he was named ACEC Georgia's Engineer of the Year in Construction for his work on the 5th Runway Embankment project at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Veronica Finol, PE
Veronica is a senior staff geotechnical engineer in Terracon's Atlanta office. She is a graduate of California State University where she earned her degree in Civil Engineering. With seven years of experience, Veronica is responsible of managing and executing projects by coordinating and supervising field investigations, analyzing data, preparing engineering calculations, making design recommendations, and preparing geotechnical reports.

She has been recognized for her outstanding contributions having been named Terracon's 2018 Young Professional Award for the Gulf Coast Division as well as being featured in an episode of the Society of Women Engineer (SWE) NEXT's A Day in the Life video series.
